Minneapolis!

Matt and I went to Minneapolis for a long weekend to visit friends. It was so much fun!!

Grilling out, the weather was great!

Brianne and Jarred at the Basillica Block Party. So fun! It’s a fund raiser for the catholic church downtown where they sell 15,000 tickets to a music festival because it’s just easier than like 100 bake sales through out the year. It was an awesome night, great weather, great fair food, great music.

The Avett Brothers! A NC band and our favorites, they were so good!!

Mary, Erin, Kristin, Amy. Erin's husband had a surprise 30th birthday party for her while we were there. Her birthday is October 23. I guess he just really wanted to make sure it was a surprise. So funny and so fun!

Kristin and Ben at a Saint’s game. It was so hot! I didn't last...

And we finally got to meet Owen, our friends, Brianne and Jarred’s baby. He’s 11 months and so cute! Matt and I took him for a walk and got caught in the rain. Owen though it was hilarious.

4th of July

Happy Fourth of July! Matt and I spent the weekend visiting my grannies in Virginia. It was great to see everyone! We spent Friday night with my Granny in Vienna and had a delicious spaghetti super and intense Wi bowling tournament (serious, $5 buy in).

Me and my Granny

Uncle Bill, Aunt Anne, Mama Sita and Cousin Will

On a side note, Matt has suggested Papi and Mama Sita as grandpa and grandma names for my parents. Let's just say the verdict's still out.

We spend Saturday night with my Grandma in Woodstock. My Uncle Walt grilled out hot dogs and hamburgers and we watched fireworks from the deck.

Grandma and Grandpa Harry

As usual, I wish I had taken more pictures! All three of my dad's brothers and their wives were also in Woodstock for the weekend.

On Sunday I thought that Matt had to get back for boy scout camp (he goes with his dad's troop every year) but he surprised me for our 5 year anniversary. We spent the night at the Hotel Roanoke and went to a music festival and fireworks show. I loved it!! Two nights of fireworks in a row!

Happy Anniversary, Matt! I love you to the max!

Elkin Shower

Last weekend Matt's family threw a shower for us at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Matt's hometown, Elkin, NC. It was great!

We had a great turn out. It was so nice to visit with everyone.

Megan, Jessica and Avett. Avett made friends with Matt and they kept us all entertained. He is so cute!

Clarification

We bought a house in Alabama but we aren't planning on moving until the last week in July. We decided to go ahead and sell our house in November and we've been staying with our very generous friends, Chrissie and Jason, in Greensboro ever since. Matt's last day of work was on Friday (I'm so jealous!) and he's planning to move our things down and work on sprucing up the the house a little bit but we won't move for good for a few more weeks. We just want to spend as much time with our friends in North Carolina as we can before we go.

Memorial Day Weekend

Over Memorial Day Weekend we pretty much toured the state of Alabama. We spent Wednesday night with our friends, Andy and Sarah, in Birmingham; went to Tuscaloosa for the day on Thursday; spent Thursday night with our friends, Beau and Brittany and their family, in Montgomery; and drove to Jackson on Friday to spend the weekend with my parents and my sister and her husband at their cabin at Choctaw Bluff. It was great to see everyone and we had so much fun!

Home Owners

We are officially home owners again! Matt and I spent Memorial Day weekend in Alabama and while we were in Tuscaloosa we closed on a house. Matt is going back to school in August to get his PhD in Accounting at the University of Alabama. We will really miss everyone in North Carolina but we're excited about everything to come!
