16- Grandma and Pops

Rebecca is 16 weeks! Such a cutie!!

After getting a little behind over the holidays, my New Year's resolution is to update my blog once and week. I'm also now giving real titles to each post.

Exciting happenings this week include having our friends Kelsey, Clark and Bradley over for dinner and the Ohio/Arkansas game.

Auburn winning the national championship! War Eagle!! I know Rebecca is not even in Auburn clothes in this picture but it's a cute one.

And most exciting, a visit from Grandma and Pops!

We had a great time! Rebecca loved all the attention.

Family photo. Rebecca loves her playmat! This was a big weekend for her. She started grabbing for toys and pulling them into her mouth. She also started raising her feet up and slamming them down when she's on her back. She'll sometimes end up on her side doing this.

She's also doing better on her tummy. She had a record today of 15 minutes. Speaking of records, I forgot to mention the Christmas miracle in my last posts. Rebecca has started sleeping 7 hours! To me that is sleeping through the night, it's awesome.

15 Weeks

Rebecca is 15 weeks and two days old today!!

We're good! We're still recovering from our 18 day trip across the country...I might have gotten a little behind on my bloging...

Anyways, we had a great week!

After saying goodbye to everyone in Elkin we headed home. Matt drove through the night so Rebecca (and I!) could sleep. I don't know how he does it, but I love it. I fall asleep in North Carolina and wake up in Alabama, it's like I'm traveling through time.

After a few days of settling back in we headed to Birmingham for New Year's with our friends, Chris and Ashley. They hosted a New Year's party and we had a great time!

We also stayed with them on Saturday and pretty much watched every single bowl game.

Roll tide roll!

Today was Rebecca's first day of school! Here I am getting her into the car. I am still looking for a job but haven't found anything yet. We have Rebecca registered for daycare and if we take her out we'll lose her spot. Since I'm not working we're easing into it, a few hours today and she's not going back until next week. Grandma is coming to visit tomorrow and Pops is coming on Thursday. We can't wait!!

14 Weeks

Rebecca at 14 weeks!

We spent this week back in Elkin.

Rebecca and Papa

Matt and Rebecca with Granny Foda and Granny Marie, or as the great-grandkids say Granny Granny and Granny Granny. :)

On Tuesday we took a trip down to Greensboro to visit with friends.

We stopped in Kernersville to see Brittney and her new baby girl, Elexa.

We met some friends from Ernst & Young for dinner and drinks at Fishbones.

We spent the night with our friends, Cassidy and Todd in Greensboro. Here we are with their genius baby, Lilly. She is two and a half and adorable. She likes to shout our her number at breakfast and sing songs (including her ABCs!) in her crib while she is supposed to be napping.

The next day we visited with our friend Chrissie.

And met some friends from ITG for lunch.

Then we made our way back to Kernersville to visit with the Coulstons. They just had twin boys. Here we are with their little girl, Haliey. She is so cute and so full of energy!!

We spent the night with with our friend, Micheal. Here is Rebecca with Uncle Jarrett and Uncle Marty.

The next day we headed back to Elkin. Ms. Joan made a delicious turkey dinner for us on Christmas Eve.

Rebecca with her Uncle Ira. He is a real punk rocker.

On Christmas Day Matt's sister, Mandy and her family joined us in Elkin.

Rebecca and her cousins!

The next day we had Christmas again at Granny Marie's. Maria, Joseph, Mandy and baby Alison.

13 Weeks

Rebbecca at 13 weeks!

After spending the day in Elkin, we packed again and headed to Vienna, VA to visit my mom's mom, my granny.

We had a great visit! Here Matt is changing Rebecca's clothes under the supervision of granny's cat, Boo.

While we were there my cousin Will and his girlfriend (now fiancée!!) , Rebecca came over for dinner. It was great to see them, I hate we didn't think to take any pictures.

Rebecca talking to Granny. This is where she got her new nick name, little fatty fat fatty. :)

Next we went to Woodstock, VA to visit my dad's mom and her husband, Harry.

Grandma and Matt

While we were in Woodstock we also got to see my Uncle Walt and Aunt Lloydine. They came over for a delicious meal. I found out the secret to Grandma's mashed potatoes- coffee creamer. Yum!

Such a cutie! While Harry and Rebecca were smiling at each other Harry said, "I have a way with them." I said, "babies?" He said, "women." :)

After Woodstock we made our way to Roanoke where we spent the day with our friends Cody and Martha and their little girl, Emma.

That night my Uncle Steve and Aunt Ellen had us over for dinner along with my Uncle Bobby and Aunt Kathi, cousins Lindy and Michelle and their boyfriends, Josh and Josh.

Opening gifts- Merry Christmas!

12 Weeks

Rebecca at 12 weeks!

Before we left for our trip we met some of Matt's professors and friends from school for happy hour at Innis Free.

Rebecca and Kelsey- Rebecca did great! She is so laid back.

On Friday we packed up an insane amount of baby gear and headed out. Our first stop was in Birmingham (to break up the trip? :)). We stayed with our friend, Chris and our friends Andy and Sarah came over for dinner.

"Where's the baby?!" Chris has the best baby voice ever, it's like he's channeling his mother-in-law.

Merry Christmas from the Nicholson's! Since we left on the 10th we didn't put up any Christmas decorations at our house.

On Saturday we hit the road for Mooresville, NC. We stopped several time to feed Rebecca and play with her for a while. When she is in the car she sleeps.

Out!

We stayed with our friends, Mat and Kelly and our friends Jon and Amber and their little girl, Isabelle came over, too. Isabelle is about 6 months older than Rebecca and adorable!

Some of Mat and Kelly's neighbors came over to watch the girls while we ate dinner. So nice! And our friend Nick stopped by later on.

The highlight of the night! After 6 years of asking Mat Benton if I could straighten his his hair, he finally said yes!

And don't worry, when I got done straightening it, I french braided it.

The next day we made our way to Elkin, NC to stay with Matt's parents for two days before heading to Virginia.

11 Weeks

Rebecca is 11 weeks old today!

She is such a cutie! She loves to smile and I can't get enough of it!

This week I have taken no pictures at all, literally zero. It's terrible, I'll definitely have to do better next week!

We have really had a quiet week. Just cleaning up after Thanksgiving, hanging out, Matt's been studying for finals and we've been getting ready for our big trip next week. We have plans to visit family and friends in North Carolina and Virginia from December 10 - 28th. I can't wait!!

I do have some pictures I've taken with my iphone. I try to email a picture or video to my mom and mother-in-law everyday. I love my phone. I think it's awesome to have so many pictures of Rebecca.
