Weddings, a Pool Party and no phones
Rebecca!
We had a great Memorial Day weekend! Matt's parents kept Rebecca for us and we went to Chapel Hill for our friends Scott and Jennifer's wedding. So much fun!! It was at the Carolina Inn and lovely. I don't have pictures of anything because that same weekend I lost my phone (very sad, I lasted about two days before I had to get a new one). I went shopping on Saturday and I think it must have fallen out of my car. Anyways, the wedding reception was the fun dancing kind of wedding reception (I even stayed up past 10 o'clock. What?!) and late in the evening Matt was telling our friend Amy about how his work phone is a Driod and he hates it and his boss told him that as soon as his Driod breaks he'll get to replace it with an iphone. Don't worry, Amy grabbed Matt's phone and slammed it down on the dance floor. Success! The phone broke. It was so strange being cut off from the rest of the world since both of us were without phones for a little while but also kind of nice.
Speaking of Matt's Driod, the default text message alert was a robot voice saying Droid. It was really cool. And he didn't change his settings for a very long time. We were sitting out on the back deck eating super on Friday and Matt was talking about his phone saying something like, "it doesn't matter what kind of phone I get from work, an iphone or a driod." Rebecca looked up and said, "DRIOD!" In a robot voice. Hilarious.
Back to Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday we went to Mooresville to stay with our friends Matt and Kelly. Bill and Terry had a big cook out and it was so much fun! Rebecca loved it. She loves a party- it's one of her favorite words. I think she just really enjoys all the attention she gets from everyone and getting to eat whatever she wants.
The next weekend was also so fun and I also got no pictures of anything. I'm pretty mad at myself about it. Anyways, on Friday night we had our friends Will and Robin over and grilled out with our new gas grill that is hooked up to the house. So awesome. On Saturday we went to Blacksburg to visit with my parents and my Granny. Saturday night was my cousin Will and Rebecca's wedding party. They got married in Costa Rica over New Year's but had a reception back home. It was outside at some kind of garden at Virginia Tech. So pretty!! And so great to see all of our family. On Sunday we went to Roanoke for brunch at my Uncle Steve and Aunt Ellen's.
This past weekend Matt's parents kept Rebecca for us on Saturday and we actually got some work done on the nursery. Rebecca has been helping me put clothes away in there and can now say Laura. It's cute. I tell her that we're getting a baby and that will be her room but I wonder if she really has an idea of what is about to happen. On Sunday we went to our friend Micheal's house for a pool party.
I'd forgotten there was a bag of chips in Rebecca's diaper bag and I didn't realize she could reach them from her pack n play. No wonder she was so quite in there...
