Christmas Program

Baby Laura! Such a big girl! Such a happy baby!
The Friday before last was Rebecca's Christmas Program at school. Her class sang "O Come Let Us Adore Him."
Rebecca did great! The kids didn't really know what to do. Joseph cried for his mom the whole time, the three wise men laid in the floor and Rebecca got up front and cheese for the audience the entire time. Little Matt Rogers.
That night Ms. Joan spent the night with us so Matt and I could go to his work Christmas party. It was really fun! Last year they had the best band and this year they had a lame DJ so it was not as awesome but there were moments of awesomeness. Like when Matt danced the Gangnam Style dance. He had been talking it up and even practicing this dance all week at work so when DJ played this song as the very first song of coarse Matt had to get on the dance floor. What made this even better was that before the DJ started playing there was some Irish dancing for our entertainment. There were like 8 dancers, like 4th to 8th grade girls in super glittery outfits and crazy curly wigs on, Toddlers and Tiaras style. They were still on the dance floor when the Gangnam Style song came on so it was just Matt and the beauty queens dancing the Gangnam Style dance in front of about 400 people. Awesome.
The next night our Friend Marty had a Christmas party at his house. He has the coolest cabin in the woods. We had a great time. Rebecca loves her some Marty!
Laura had her 4 month check up this past week and she is doing great! She's about 50th percentile for everything.
Random, I know, but here's a picture of Christina and Baby Jim with hair. It's so funny to me!
On Thursday Matt's work put on a children's Christmas party and it was completely awesome. So over the top. Decorations, a huge buffet of kid food and treats, caricaturists, photo booth, arcade games, dance floor, Santa was there. It was awesome!
And Charlie was there! So he and Laura got to have their first date.
Rebecca spent most of the night on the dance floor. Seriously, little Matt Rogers.

Parade

Baby Laura! I love this picture because it reminds me so much of Rebecca as a baby.
We had a big weekend. On Saturday we went to the Tanglewood festival of lights. It was neat but I think Rebecca was just a little too young for it. About half way through she said, "Let's watch Handy Mandy."
On Sunday we went to Elkin for the Christmas parade. It was so much fun!!
Rebecca is so cute and we were at the start of the parade route and she stood out in her leopard print dress (she loves to wear dresses and calls them ballerina shirts) so we got tons of candy. I mean tons. The diaper bag was overflowing.
Dancing to the marching band!
And a tractor and car that could drive on two wheels. Sometimes I just really love Elkin.
Baby Riley. We got to visit a little while before the parade. She is so adorable!!

O Christmas Tree

Rebecca! Deciding what treasures to put in her backpack. Just like Dora.
This past weekend we went to reality tv show super star Jarrett Joyce's tree lot to pick out our Christmas tree.
Everybody say cheese as hard as you can! As you may be able to tell by our outfits, this weekend was also the SEC championship game. Alabama won- Roll Tide!
Ta-da! I have really enjoyed our tree this year. I guess it's been a while since we've had a real one. It's so pretty and smells so good.
Baby Laura! Such a big girl. She's already starting to suck on her fingers and pull things into her mouth. She is so smiley. I'll read Goodnight Moon to her before she goes to bed and she gets a huge grin on her face whenever she sees the cover.
Rebecca and Oma! Oma, Ira and Marina came to see us on Tuesday. Ira and Marina made the most delicious vegan meal for us. So good!
Dance party!

Happy Thanksgiving

Baby Laura! First of all, I tried dropping Laura's last feeding (10pm) last night and she did great! I put her down at 8 and she slept until 6. I still can't believe it. I hope she keeps it up!
Rebecca! Matt and Rebecca acting like super models at Target. I know I say this every time I blog but Rebecca is becoming so verbal. Yesterday when I left for work I said, "I love you, sweet girl". Normally when I say goodbye she just keeps coloring or watching Dora or whatever she's doing but this time she looked at me and said, "I love you too, Mommy". I usually hate periods after every word in a sentence but melt. my. heart.
Two weekends ago we met everyone in Mt. Airy for Granny Marie's birthday. So fun! I think Rebecca got more of Marie's cake than Marie did. :)
Baby Two watching Handy Manny while Rebecca ate.
We had the best Thanksgiving! My parents flew into Charlotte on Tuesday and drove with us up to Blacksburg on Wednesday. We spent two nights with my mom's side of the family then went to Woodstock for two nights with my dad's side of the family. It was so great to see everyone! Here we are laughing at Williams face swapping app. Hilarious!
Christina, Sands and Baby Jim came up from Mobile. So exciting to finally meet Baby Jim! He is adorable and such a good baby! We really love naming people after other people in my family...

I wish I had gotten more pictures in Woodstock. Here are Baby Jim and Baby Laura. Cousins!
And one random picture of the boys at the bowling alley. Happy Thanksgiving!

Roll Tide

Baby Laura has started sleeping! This is pretty much the best thing that has ever happened to me. For about the last two weeks she'll go to sleep at 8, I'll wake her up to eat one more time at 10 and she'll sleep until 6. It's like she knew I had to go back to work. She has become the most laid back baby. It's great!
Cheese! The weekend before last we went to Midtown Cafe for brunch. Delicious! Ms. Joan kept Rebecca for us and Matt, Laura and I went to Mooresville to visit the Bentons. We grilled out for the Alabama/LSU game and it was so much fun!
Baby Laura was not that impressed.
Roll Tide! This past weekend Matt went to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama/Texas A&M game. They took reality show super star Jarrett Joyce's short bus down. Matt says his new slogan should be the bus is short and the shipments are slow- haha! Alabama lost but everyone had a great time.
I was not super excited about having both girls all by myself for the weekend so Matt surprised me by getting a ticket for Mary Martha to come visit. We had so much fun!
The big event on Saturday was our friend Caroline's birthday party. Rebecca's favorite parts were the cake, ice cream, capri suns and candy.
Rebecca and Elexa posing for a picture- wild!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Roll Tide! Rebecca was an Alabama cheerleader for her party at school on Friday and Trunk or Treat with the Browns on Sunday.
We had a good weekend. We had everyone (Ms. Joan, Mandy, Ryan, Camden, Alison, Ms. Jane, Maria and Riley) over for dinner on Friday and it was a bit chaotic but very fun.
This is the best picture I got of Rebecca with her cousins over the entire time they were here. Chaotic.
Mandy and her family left for Texas on Sunday and we're definitely sad to see them go. We were riding home from school the other day and Rebecca said, "I like purple. I like purple ice cream. I LIKE and Aunt Mandy!" Not sure about that train of thought but Rebecca does love some Aunt Mandy.
Here's Laura getting ready to snooze on the way to school. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm kind of excited about it but I will really miss this little cutie!!
Laura had her two month check up a few weeks ago and is doing great! She's in the 65th percentile for weight and 85th percentile for height. She is really staring to smile and coo and it is adorable.
Rebecca is doing great, too. She is so verbal. She will repeat anything we ask her to and her latest trick is singing all the days of the week. Here she is a her favorite place- the park!
