Brasels

Rebecca!

And sweet Baby Laura. Here she is playing while Rebecca gets her bath. Laura can now sit up all on her own - very impressive!

We had the best weekend! Our dear friends from Tuscaloosa, the Brasels, came to visit us.

Rebecca loved having company!

Nap time!  Rebecca would cover us up and bring us tissues. So cute!

On Saturday we had friends over to watch the State game then went out for dinner at 6th and Vine - our favorite!

Ready to go!

6 Months

Baby Laura! Sweet baby Laura is already 6 months old. She had her check up last week and is doing great! She's about 50% for weight and 75% for height.

Last week Laura also had her first taste of solid food. She was way more interested in the spoon than the oatmeal cereal. It seems like she's starting to get the hang of it. Today she had sweet potatoes for the first time and finished the whole pack.

Last week was also Valentine's Day, which I love! Matt got me some tulips and I got him some notebooks for work. I also got a little pink notebook for Rebecca so she could be just like her Daddy.

Rebecca and Oma! Matt's mama stayed with us over the weekend and we had so much fun!

We rode down to Raleigh on Saturday fro the NC State game and to visit with Uncle Ira. Here's Rebecca watching Fresh Beat Band in the van. Right now the rule is if the trip is longer than an hour she gets to watch TV. She loved it!

Go Pack! Oma watched the girls for us while Matt and I went to the game. We had a great time! We got to sit in the EY box and got VIP parking- so nice!

Say cheese! Rebecca stopped Matt and I before they left for school on Monday so she could get our picture with her phone. She is so cute and so funny. On Sunday I made Shrimp, roast carrots and yeast rolls for supper. Random, I know but I hadn't been to the grocery store and it's all we had in the house. Rebecca sat down to supper, ate two bites and said, "Good cookin' Mama!" So cute!! She then ate about 10 more shrimp.

First Haircut

Rebecca getting her first haircut!
I took Rebecca to the salon and Saturday and she did great! It was a for real haircut and she sat perfectly still the entire time.
That afternoon Matt took Rebecca to the circus! This was seriously the best picture Matt took of the whole thing. Seriously?! But I think they had a great time. When Rebecca got home she said that she got to see animals- elephants and dogs and horses, but not giraffes. :) They ran into our friends, the MacKays, so Rebecca got to watch the second half with Lilly. So fun!
I got the spend the day with this little cutie. Playing and making freezer meals. I'm super into it lately. I made spinach pies on Saturday (http://www.marthastewart.com/317455/spinach-pie) and Jamacian Red Bean Stew on Sunday (http://www.savvyvegetarian.com/vegetarian-recipes/jamaican-red-bean-stew.php). So productive! Rebecca spent Saturday night with her Oma (we love you Oma!!!) so Matt and I got a babysitter for Laura and went out for a fancy dinner. It was great!
I love this picture. Rebecca with all of her friends- everybody has a necklace and nobody's wearing pants! She is so funny. Lately she's started saying, "Can I have food?" I guess she hasn't quite figured out I'm hungry. It sounds like we don't feed her. And when she wants a lot of something she'll say, "3,4,5,6!"
Not to be out done, Laura can suck on her big toe like it's her thumb. Funny little girls!

Alabama

Little Lady. Rebecca is such a big girl!
Two weekends ago we went to Alabama for baby Jim's christening.
It was so great to see everyone!! Rebecca and Grandma!
Pops and baby Jim!
Here we are in the hats my mom made for baby Laura :)
Spent! Worn out after a weekend at the Stimpsons. Of coarse I didn't any pictures of the actual christening (or even any pictures in our dress up clothes). It really was so lovely and I'm so glad we got to be a part of it. The girls were good little travelers. When we got back to Charlotte, as we were making our way through the airport with our two babies and all our baby gear, Rebecca just laid down on her tummy in the middle of the concourse and started wiggling her arms and legs saying, "I swimming, I swimming." Not the best time for pretend swimming but still very cute.
Pretty girl! This little cutie is doing a little bit better on her tummy these days. She's discovered her feet and chews on them all the time.
Rebecca the cat! Big Friday night at Chick fil a! We had a good weekend. We had our friends the Robinsons over for super on Saturday and Hambone came over on Sunday to watch the Superbowl.
Me and Matt! Rebecca is really into taking pictures with our phones. It is amazing how she can use our iphones and ipad like it is no big deal.
Sweet sisters!
